Coaching Staff

A 2004 Scecina graduate, Bobby Sponsel returns to lead the Crusaders for the 2025–26 season. He previously served as Scecina’s head wrestling coach from 2015 to 2019, guiding the program to a semistate appearance and earning Regional Coach of the Year honors. As both an alumnus and former Crusader wrestler, Coach Sponsel brings strong leadership, deep program pride, and extensive experience back to Scecina athletics.

Coach Sponsel is a parent to five children, including a senior daughter who is a three-sport athlete, and four sons, three of whom currently wrestle for Eastside. Wrestling is truly a family passion, and that commitment shapes the way he leads the program. With the support of his assistant coaching staff, Coach Sponsel is dedicated to developing each athlete, strengthening the culture, and continuing to build a competitive and resilient wrestling program.
